It was a late summer afternoon when I made this at Giardini Margherita in Bologna. The inflatable slide is, of course, appreciated by children of all ages. A crowd of them get it under assault from morning to night on Saturdays and Sundays!
On my way home at the end of my last summer holiday I had to stop few hours in a village called Torrita di Siena. The new side of that is ordinary while the old appeared like a Middle Ages ghost village. It was too hot and too little shady to sketch anything so I moved to the edge of it where I found a WWI Memorial in a little park. The park bench was confortable, shadows were fresh, mosquitos were hungry. I had to sketch quickly. Colour was added later. I get to the car just on time to avoid a fine for no parking. I thanked mosquitos.
