...the School Bus. In Bologna, some days ago.

A beautiful Primary School in Bologna.

That day I was waiting  for the end of the school assembly. It was great to sketch outside in that warm and pleasant day of September.

At 8.00 a.m. the School bus had just left so I had some time to sketch a not yet jammed ring road.

While waiting for...

...the school bus at about five p.m.. This is a stretch of Bologna ring road. The ancient centre of the city extends on the right of the way.

Colours were added later.

I've been living in Bologna for 16 years now but I never sketched in the centre of the city. There was a wonderful atmosphere in Piazza Maggiore and with the Church of San Petronio behind me I sat to sketch Palazzo del Podestà.

Next to via Indipendenza, the main street to get to the heart of the city, there is an elevated lane, now open again after a long time, which is part of Giardini della Montagnola. It was the locked gate that drew my attention.
