Pienza

Pienza, Tuscany, is a truly beautiful small town. Wonderful atmosphere, good food and wine, excellent 'Pecorino' cheese, and enchanting main door to sketch!

Punta Ala Summer Camp

It's funny to sketch at the beach, and it's easy. The place is so relaxed that no one cares about what you are doing. Even if who you are schetching is just next to you.

Please click here for Daily Portrait Sketch 118.

Another one from the series I made last summer. This could be titled, "looking at infinity, and beyond!"

Today's Daily Sketch Portrait is here.

The Sword in the Stone

Montesiepi Hermitage-Siena-Tuscany - A plate next to the sword informs: "In 1180 on top of Montesiepi Hill, Galgano Guidotti drives his sword in this stone, worshipping it as the Cross symbol of peace and redmption."
I totally ignored the existence of that.

That's me sketching the sword.

In the same area there is San Galgano Abbey.
Good information about the whole are here http://www.sangalgano.info/index_en.html

Montesiepi Hermitage-Siena-Tuscany - A very peacefully place where I tasted, undoubtedly, one of the best red wine in all my life.

Torrita di Siena

On my way home at the end of my last summer holiday I had to stop few hours in a village called Torrita di Siena. The new side of that is ordinary while the old appeared like a Middle Ages ghost village. It was too hot and too little shady to sketch anything so I moved to the edge of it where I found a WWI Memorial in a little park. The park bench was confortable, shadows were fresh, mosquitos were hungry. I had to sketch quickly. Colour was added later. I get to the car just on time to avoid a fine for no parking. I thanked mosquitos.

Minutes later I made this other one.

Talamone - Tuscany

A very fast sketch in a very hot day in a place called Talamone. Here the Tyrrenian sea is absolutely transparent and full of little and medium fishes!

Le Marze Camp

They really didn't know how to fold away their little tent. Fortunately they still had the manufacturer's instructions.

Le Marze Camp

The amazing thing in a camp is that you can have a completely different view almost every day!

Le Marze Camp.

Le Marze is also the name of a nice camp, not far from Castiglione della Pescaia, where thousand of tents can create a daily changing temporary village. A village made by synthetic or cotton lodging of different dimension and shape placed in the cool shadow of tall pines.

The Camp - Castiglione della Pescaia

Camp was quiet, and shady, and relaxing, under the hundred of maritime pines. A pleasant soundtrack was granted from morning to dusk by thousand of cicadas.
